Beta

Last modified: June 17th, 2010 — 3:04pm

Here it is! The first release of the Webmin Nginx Module. It’s pretty crude and pretty simple, but if you’re already using Webmin, it’s a nice feature instead of using SSH into your server and coding it through vim or nano or whatever.

Hopefully those of you out there who try out this module can give feedback so we can improve this project.

What it does:

  • Reads config files
  • Edits config files
  • Creates config files (with linking for Debian-style)
  • Deletes config files (incl. the link)
  • Start, stop, and reload nginx server

    Hello,

First of all, thanks for your effort. Why it only works on debian, i think you can just modify the wbz module.info to add support for centos, cant you ? Thanks.

    Best Regards

    Hello Justin,

Its me again, maybe you would like to check this out, its a control panel for nginx and its not related to webmin but can be useful for you.

You need subversion to download this.

    svn checkout http://web-nginx.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ web-nginx-read-only

    Regards

    Som,

Do you work with centos? I’d like to expand the platforms, but I don’t have time to test them all.

    Thank you very much!

Would you mind, if I try to merge your module with this one (not mine):

    github.com/vixh/nginx-webmin

I need the nginx functionality in webmin and I see that your module implements much more functionality than the module in github, but the github version on the other hand adds virtualmin support.

Virtualmin would be a good addition. Can you submit a site form with your plans? I think I’d like to include the new functionality.

    Thanks.
    Justin

The other module, I am talking about, is in github:

    https://github.com/vixh/nginx-webmin

This module is not developed by me, but these two modules seem similar enough to give a try. :)
